Planning your future can seem daunting and scary. With the right planning, an open mind and the right guidance you can make a success of it - regardless of the challenges that come along!

We aim to provide a supportive service to you. Enabling you to make positive decisions. Ones that will improve your working life, and positively impact on your personal life too.

Who is this service aimed at?

16-18 year olds

Graduates - several universities will only see those who have left in the last 2-3 years

Adults - those thinking about changes in their career, but who aren’t sure where to start.

Mark is based in mid Essex, but can provide services virtually too.

Mark’s Background in Careers

Mark qualified as a careers adviser in June 1995. As a careers adviser with Essex Careers Service, he worked in numerous colleges and 6th forms until 2011. After this he spent 3 years as a careers consultant working with schools, colleges and universities. He then started some part time work in a specialist University College as their careers adviser.

Mark now undertakes a range of freelancing work alongside this HE work. This includes doing freelance work for other universities (in particular the University of London colleges/The Careers Group), seeing private clients, Morrisby delivery and work in state and independent schools.

He uses a blend of guidance and SMART target setting to help you achieve the outcomes you want.

He is on the CDI register, is actively involved in the CDI Professional Standards Committee. He is an active member of AGCAS (Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services).

Combined with this, he does some careers writing for a range of organisations. This includes a contribution to the first Careers Writers Association book called Career Journeys: A guide for parents and carers.

We are here to help you find that perfect career!

Your career will last for many decades. This will include numerous new jobs, changing roles, undertaking training and study - either provided by your employer or instigated by you. Life will continue outside of work and bring in its own factors influencing your working life.

Just about everyone, however young or old, benefits from a chance to step back and review how their career is progressing. This review enables you to check that your career still matches the values and beliefs you have.
